What are the symptoms of Diabetes and how Ayurveda helps in it?

Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas are not able to make insulin and when the body can’t make good use of the insulin that it produces. Long-term high glucose levels can result in the damage of the body and the failure of various organs and tissues.

According to some Ayurveda Practitioners in Canada, Diabetes is the most common problem in the world. Managing diabetes can be tough but it is not impossible. Ayurvedic doctors suggest some home remedies that can help to manage and keep the blood sugar levels in check. Diabetic patients are suggested that they are not allowed to intake sugar and simple carbohydrates.

To control the blood sugar levels, Ayurveda uses the mixture of Guduchi, Shardunika, Kutki, and Punarnava. A diabetic patient is suggested to take half a spoon two or three times a day with warm water. Mostly, patients prefer to take Ayurvedic treatment for diabetes because Ayurveda is known as the best natural practice and prevents diseases to enter the body.

Some AyurvedaPractitioners in Canada say that detecting diabetes at an early stage is good because treating it can be fairly easy. This can be done by regularly checking blood glucose levels and the hormones that are produced by the pancreas. Many people detect diabetes when it is too late. They don’t understand the signs and symptoms of this disease. The initial signs of diabetes include high blood sugar, that requires regular blood check-up.

Let’s discuss some of the symptoms of Diabetes:
  1. Itchy skin and dry mouth – It’s obvious that the skin and organs will begin to feel dehydrated and lose moisture when most of the fluids are used to make urine in our body. Hence, the mouth will feel dry and you will feel itchy skin.

  1. Blurred Vision – Due to the fluctuating fluid levels in our body, it can affect the eyesight and can cause the lenses in the eyes to swell up and lose focus as well. Some Ayurveda practitioners in Canada say that if you are above age 45, it is important to get tested as soon as possible.

  1. Urinating more and feeling thirsty than normal – On average a person urinates four to seven times a day but a diabetic patient does more than that because our body absorbs the glucose when it passes. Since you’re expelling too much fluid from your body, it's normal to feel thirsty.

Here are some of the simple remedies that Ayurveda suggests to manage diabetes:

  1. Put one cup of water in the vessel in night and drink it in the morning.
  2. You should follow the diet according to your body and especially avoid intake of sugar, carbohydrates and dairy products.
  3. Ginger tea can be helpful to stimulate digestion which is beneficial to reduce excess Kapha in your system.
  4. You can take Methi dana soaked in water daily in the morning.
  5. Use turmeric in your daily life to control blood sugar levels.

If you are a diabetic person, consult an Ayurvedic doctor which will help you to deal with any type of disease.
